Meet the AirDoctor 4000

As we continue to develop the AirDoctor range, customer feedback remains important to us. We listen not only to what people need from an air purifier, but also to what they tell us about design and how a product fits into their home.
The AirDoctor 4000 brings a new cylindrical form to the range, with powerful filtration for larger rooms and open-plan spaces. It is designed to work hard without feeling out of place in the room.
A new shape for larger spaces
An open-plan kitchen can be a workspace in the morning and the place where everyone gathers in the evening. A living room may need to accommodate work, play and quiet time, sometimes all in the same day. The AirDoctor 4000 was created with these changing spaces in mind.
At approximately 71 cm tall and 35 cm across, its cylindrical body has a perforated air intake around the lower section. The new shape gives the 4000 a distinct place in the AirDoctor range, while built-in wheels make it easier to reposition as the way you use the room changes.
The 4000 can circulate the air in a room of approximately 64 m² four times an hour. That means the room’s air volume can pass through the purifier every 15 minutes.
Wherever you place it, leave some clear space around the intake and outlet so air can move freely through the unit.
Three stages, one filter
Inside, the 4000 uses AirDoctor’s three-stage approach to filtration, the same system used in the AirDoctor 2000 and AirDoctor 3500.
The first stage is a pre-filter, which captures larger airborne particles such as dust, pet hair and lint. It also helps protect the finer filtration layers from larger debris.
Next is the Premium Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC layer. It helps reduce odours, gases and volatile organic compounds released by sources such as furniture, paint and household sprays.
The final stage is the UltraHEPA® filter. It captures fine airborne particles including pollen, pet dander, mould spores and smoke particles. In independent laboratory testing, the UltraHEPA® filter captured 99.99% of airborne particles as small as 0.003 microns.
All three stages sit within one cylindrical replacement filter, so there are no separate filters to track or change at different times. The purifier lets you know when a replacement is due, and the first filter is included with the machine.
We recommend changing the filter approximately every six months. Its actual lifespan will depend on how often the purifier runs and the conditions in your home.
See what is happening in your air
Changes in airborne particle levels are not always obvious. We may notice smoke or a strong smell, but much of what is present in indoor air cannot be seen.
The AirDoctor 4000 makes those changes easier to follow. Its built-in sensor monitors airborne particle levels, while the display translates the readings into a simple colour signal. Blue indicates good air quality, orange indicates moderate air quality and red indicates poor air quality.
Everyday activities such as cooking or lighting a candle can cause particle levels to rise. In Auto mode, the purifier responds by increasing its fan speed. As conditions improve, the fan slows down again.
The colour indicator lets you check the air at a glance, while Auto mode adjusts the fan for you.
If you prefer to choose a setting yourself, there are six fan speeds. The lowest starts at 20 dB, allowing the purifier to run quietly while you work, read or sleep. When you need more airflow, you can select a stronger setting.
Dim mode switches off the LED lights while filtration continues, which is particularly useful in a bedroom at night. A timer lets you choose a running period from one to 24 hours. There is also a control lock to help prevent accidental touches or curious fingers from changing the settings.
Together, these features help the purifier fit around the way you use the room throughout the day. The purifier can work harder while the space is busy, run quietly while you concentrate and continue filtering with the lights off at bedtime.
A welcome addition to the family
The AirDoctor 4000 has its own place in the family. It combines greater coverage with independently tested filtration, clear information about the air around you and controls that are easy to understand.
For households with a large living area or an open-plan room at the centre of daily life, it offers an AirDoctor designed with that space in mind.
That balance is what makes the 4000 such a welcome addition: more reach for larger spaces, without making cleaner air harder to manage. We are very happy to welcome it to the family.
